Today, all of my studies (again!) centered on one idea. It is this: “Giving consistent effort in the little things in day-to-day life leads to greatness.” Howard W. Hunter.
From Fervent, “In prayer we watch words on a page turn a new leaf in us, both in our hearts and in our day-to-day living.” Both are speaking of our identities and how Satan wants to get between what God says we are and us believing it.
Alma 10:26, in part, reads, “Why will ye yield yourselves unto him that he may have power over you, to blind your eyes, that ye will not understand the words which are spoken, according to their truth?”
What does God say about you and do you allow Satan to take it from you? I know I frequently do. One of my struggles since getting sick is not comparing myself “before” to my now. All it does is make me feel bad, but I’m sure that is exactly how Satan wants me to feel – defeated, less than, not good enough. How crippling those thoughts have been!! I read the other day and wrote it in my planner a quote about not letting my “shoulds” steal my joy, but to REJOICE in all that I CAN do. I think I’ll try that on this beautiful day.
