I had a couple of surprises in my inbox this morning – one, a response to a question I emailed the author, Jeff Anderson. The second was an offer by him to send two signed copies of Divine Applause for two lucky readers. Very generous of him.
Today, right on schedule, this post is to let you know a little more about him and how to connect with him through social media. Plus, this author actually has some videos to enjoy. You can find them on YouTube. I shared the introduction he has for this book on my social media, but you can view it here also. The second one I’d like to share is tied to the first part of Divine Applause which sets the stage for the book.
While it is easier to picture a kind loving Father in Heaven if your earthly father was like Jeff’s, it isn’t a necessity to develop that kind of relationship with God. He shares – “God knows me completely – nothing about me surprises Him.” It’s so true! He has known every single thing about us before we came to earth. He knows us better than we know ourselves, which is why His plans are far better for us than our own. It’s hard for me to trust that since I can’t actually see how His plans are going to work out. I like to pretend that I do know how mine will. Ha ha. I’m not sure any of my plans have ever worked out the way I thought they would, but in my mind, I like to pretend they do. I read somewhere that we all like the sense of control that planning and choosing gives us, but it’s really a delusion. We are just kidding ourselves.
Back to Jeff. He is pretty accessible, but doesn’t write on his blog very often. There is good content on it, it’s just sparse. As I mentioned above, there are some videos on YouTube (six, if I counted right), and, if you purchase the book directly from him (http://www.acceptablegift.org/divine-applause), there are videos available online or you can purchase them as a DVD. There is also one other book of his, Plastic Donuts, that is about tithe. I have not read it, but paying an honest tithe is also something we each should consider. His one other social media link is @acceptable_gift on Twitter.
As with the previous book, I added #JeffAnderson and #DivineApplause to Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. I will continue to post words of wisdom and other thoughts as I go. I am enjoying this book very much.
