In all areas – even our eating habits. “Satan wants to keep us distracted by chasing one temporary filling after another.” A quote by Lysa TerKeurst in Made to Crave. Distraction. It seems to be his big plan these days. There are distractions everywhere and we fall so easily into the trap. We want to see it all and do it all (and eat it all, let’s not forget that – I mean, have you seen the food porn on Pinterest?!?) and be entertained during the whole process. Doesn’t that sound good?
It sounds exhausting. The older I get, the more focus I want in my life. I want to focus on those things that mean the most to me. It’s not like I’m old (47), but I am tired of the chase. I think that happened when I got sick and had to visit all of those doctors. I got tired of the constant search to figure it out. It was exhausting. Since then, I just don’t have the mental energy to chase anything but the most important things to me – my family, spiritual life, and health. There’s not much else.
So, what are you chasing today and is it one of your most important things?
