Suffering and God

Suffering toughens up our skin. We suffer now so we will not suffer later. Through many trials we must enter the kingdom of heaven. Suffering is a sign of sanctification, which is the lifelong process of becoming more like Christ. The burden of your load may feel heavy now, but it is preparing you to stand under the weight of glory that is coming. And it will be good. – David Bowden, When God Isn’t There

I guess this chapter is for me. It’s all about suffering and answers to so many of the questions that have been dogging my faith for the past few months. God is in our suffering? David explains yes and you’ll have to get the book and read it to understand why God doesn’t put an end to it all. It’s the best reason I’ve ever heard and it pierces right to my heart. Thank you, David!! I need this.
